Performance & Durability
Oraguard 210 provides a UV extension factor of 2 years when paired with ORAJET printable media — meaning it extends the outdoor durability of the printed graphic by 2 years beyond the base media rating. The clear solvent-based adhesive maintains color accuracy and optical clarity across the full print. The gloss finish enhances color vibrancy for outdoor signage and retail displays. The matte finish reduces glare for indoor display applications, trade show graphics, and any application where reflection is undesirable.
One practical note from professional users — Oraguard 210 is a soft calendered film. Use a felt squeegee during cold lamination to avoid surface scratching. A hard plastic squeegee or Teflon edge can mar the film surface during application.
Applications & Uses
The professional standard for flat cold lamination in sign shops, print shops, sticker makers, and crafters protecting flat digitally printed graphics. Compatible with solvent, eco-solvent, latex, and UV-cured inks on ORAJET and compatible printable media.
Flat cold lamination only — not suitable for heat or pressure lamination, vehicle wraps, or curved surfaces. For vehicle wrap and curved surface applications see Oraguard 290 premium cast laminate.
Oraguard 210 vs 215 vs 290 — Which Laminate Do You Need?
The three most common questions we get on laminates are whether to use the 210, 215, or 290. Here's the breakdown based on ORAFOL's technical specifications:
| Product | Type | Thickness | UV Extension Factor | Best For |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Oraguard 210 | Calendered PVC | 2.5 mil | +2 years | Flat signs, decals, stickers, short-to-medium term |
| Oraguard 215 | Calendered PVC | 2.75 mil | +3 years | Medium-to-long-term flat and mild curve applications |
| Oraguard 290 | Cast PVC | 2 mil | +4 years | Vehicle wraps, long-term outdoor, complex curves |
Use the 210 for everyday flat sign and sticker production where a 2-year UV extension is sufficient. Step up to the 215 if your application requires a longer UV extension factor or slightly more thickness and flexibility. Use the 290 for vehicle wraps and any application requiring cast laminate conformability and maximum UV protection.
If your application involves vehicle graphics, complex curves, or a client specification requiring cast overlaminate — the 210 is not the right choice. See Oraguard 290 or Oraguard 215.
