What Is Oracal 651?
Oracal 651 is a 2.5 mil intermediate calendered PVC film with a solvent-based permanent adhesive. It is built for computer-aided sign making. It cuts cleanly on plotters, holds dimensional stability, lifts minimally on fine detail cuts, and weeds reliably. Available in 80+ colors, most in a gloss finish, with matte options available in black and white.

How to Apply Oracal 651
Oracal 651 applies cleanly to flat and slightly curved surfaces at temperatures between 60°F and 95°F. Basic steps:
- Clean and dry the surface thoroughly before application
- Weed the design, removing excess vinyl around your cut lettering or graphic
- Apply transfer tape over the weeded design to lift it as one piece
- Position the design on the surface and squeegee firmly from the center outward
- Slowly peel back the transfer tape at a low angle, checking that the vinyl has released cleanly

Durability
Oracal 651 is rated for up to 6 years of outdoor durability on standard colors, 4 years on metallics, and 3 years on brilliant blue. It is suitable for both indoor and outdoor applications: lettering, vehicle graphics, window decals, and general sign work.
